Concepcion municipality is located on the north of Aloran and Oroquieta City. At the west by Misamis Occidental and Zamboanga del Sur boundary line.

In the beginning this place was called Balabag, a sitio of Monterico, Aloran, Misamis Occidental. The first Teniente del Barrio was Mr. Cornelio Z. Baluyos and the Mayor at that time of Aloran was Hon. Jose Mutia.

In 1954, a school was opened, called Concepcion Primary School, from Grades I-IV. Mr. Fernando Mellore was the first lone teacher under the District Supervisor, Mr. Jose Romero of Aloran District.

In the year 1956, the place was surveyed and Balabag belonged to Baliangao, Misamis Occidental. The Mayor of Baliangao was Hon. Agapito Yap. Balabag became the barrio of Baliangao, Misamis Occidental.

On September 27, 1957, through the effort of Mr. Cornelio Z. Baluyos, the Teniente del Barrio, with the help of the Provincial Officials. Executive Order No. 202 creating Balabag, a District Municipality of Aloran, Misamis Occidental under the name of Concepcion in honor of their patrol, Immaculate Concepcion. The first set of the municipal officials were mayor Cornelio Z. Baluyos, Mr. Juan Jumalon, the vice-mayor and councilors were Elias Borongan, Valeriano Pugod, Damiano Tayone, Martin Singconigue, Florencio Dancalan and Gabriel Lagar.

In 1972 election was held and Hon. Narciso M. del Rosario was elected with the same set of councilors. Unfortunately the mayor was crushed to death, while going to a certain place of Concepcion. Sometime in 1978, Mr. Roldan A. Chiong, the municipal secretary became acting Mayor of the municipality.

In 1980, election of municipal officials was held and Mr. Roldan A. Chiong was elected as the mayor and Hon. Lucito T. Baluyos as the vice-mayor.

During the administration of the President Corazon Aquino in 1986, Juminer Paundog acted as Officer-in-Charge, the Municipal Mayor, and Federico Villaruel as the Vice-Mayor. The councilmen were Obed Bolando, Luis Cagatin, Huridine Etol, Padrito Loquias, Vicente Subrado, Amancio Tumagna and Tenorio Tamon.

In 1988 up to the present, Hon. Roldan A. Chiong is the mayor, Hon. Lucito T. Baluyos as the vice mayor. The councilmen were Hon. Obed Bolando, Hon. Luis Cagatin, Hon. Federico Domoyan, Hon. Abraham Baluyos, Hon. Amancio Tumagna, Hon. Elena Aso, Hon. Flaviano Rudas, Hon. Tenorio Tanon and Hon. Gregorio Sumagang.
